Well everyone I'm back safe and sound from Kelowna (albeit a day late due to road conditions).
Driving the coquihalla was definitely an adventure to remember. I almost turned back at the toll booth it was snowing so hard, but figured i'd come that far and i might as well keep going. Creeping along at 40kph. Sliding like mad. Having loads of fun. And about 2 1/2 hours later i arrived at work! Just in time for Hannah to leave at 1:30. God definitely kept me safe on that journey, without his incredible protection i might just be dead on the side of the road in an overturned car in the snow!
And now? Home again. Going to bed. Work tomorrow.
Goodnight all!

Adventures in the Dark Part 2
sorry about that folks, i was called away for dinner and had to post an unfinished blog. but the rest of the story is pretty tame, we just wandered around the store in pitch blackness, so dark you could almost FEEL it.....and i only realized now that the emergency lights didn't even go on! what is WITH that! cool.
so anyways, at 2 the power went out and at 2:45, after making sure all the light switches were in the off position, i was on my way home! a full half day off! pretty sweet. i tidied my room and went shopping and bummed around.
so ya thats all for now, if you want more on the adventures of alpha you'll have to wait because this week has been pretty boring.

Adventures in the Dark
Today started out like any other work day. I dragged myself out of bed at the crack of dawn, woke up in the shower (literally, i was seriously still asleep when i got up. in fact, its a wonder i wasn't still wearing my pjs in the shower), and drove to work while stuffing a banana in my mouth.
but then everything changed.
Power Outage!!!!
2 o'clock and all of a sudden the lights blinked off, and the store was plunged into darkness.

Fifi the organizational freak
did you know that i love organizing stuff? not stuff as in events and all but stuff as in the back of the store, my room, the house in general, etc. it's so nice when you walk into a house and it's tidy! yesterday i went on a rampage in the back of the store (i had nothing else to do) and decided it was high time someone took initiative and did something about the pigsty we were working in. through the course of the day i succeeded in moving half the things leaning along the far left hand wall near the roll-up door and relocating them or getting rid of them (you may call me dumpster girl and laugh but really that is one of my favorite things to do. throw junk away. in fact the magic word really isn't 'please', it's 'throw it away'!). while moving one of the three folding picnic tables out all 30-odd shuffle board tops came crashing down, narrowly missing my head and hitting a dolly with 4 tubs of 'liquid siding' on it instead. seriously one of these days i'm going to kill myself. needless to say i was pressed to remove the shuffle boards from the floor and did so 2 at a time onto the top shelf of racking that we recently put up. thank goodness for that racking, i've fit so much on it that otherwise would be junked in big piles on the floor in the big open space and we'd be treated to regular reprimands from Dad about how 'cleanliness is next to godliness'. yes Dad it really was a good idea, although it was a hideous amount of work while we were in the process of upgrading.
so now we can actually see parts of the wall whereas before all we saw were large boards, shuffle boards, ladders, tables, and quite frankly, junk.
and now we're ready for the shipment tomorrow!! we get this Friday and next Tuesday which will be extremely good being as our shelves are emptying out fast. i just hope and pray that the loads will be BIG unlike the past few which have been pathetically small.
thats all for now folks!!
oh and cheer up, the rain can't last forever....

What is the point of blogging? what is the point of having a blog in general? why do we have this insistence on people peeking into our lives? can you tell i have absolutely nothing to say?
yes it was a long day at work, and i'm glad to be home. and being as someone mentioned off-hand the other day how i never update my blog i thought i'd better. no time like the present.
so here goes:
-I am fine
-Leah is pregnant (yay!!)
-Will is leaving (yay? no really i'll miss him)
-Kiara is 5 (october 11)
and that is really all the remarkable news that i can think of!! but actually it depends on what you would consider remarkable. some people want to know every detail of your life, when you got your last haircut, when you got your last speeding ticket, what you bought when you last went shopping and how much it cost....or even what time of night you go to bed! i don't mind. but i can never turn my thoughts into proper words so i apologize to any offended party who may find my blog boring and useless.

My First Taste Of Europe
Bonjour! i'm finally in Europe! today Heather and I travelled to Brugges and wandered around for the whole day, did typical touristy things, took a billion pictures, i'm going to have some really interesting stories to tell! Heather and I wandered into a store entirely devoted to Tintin comics, and if you haven't heard of Tintin then you REALLY need to get a life!! but then we were kicked out because we were eating ice-cream cones.....but it was totally ok cuz the store was freakin overpriced, like MAJOR €€€€€€€€€€€!!! this one teeeeeeany-weeeeeeany tintin figurine was like 50€. anyhow it was nice to look.
And we wandered through this massive cathedral which i can't remember the name of (which is why i took a picture of the sign), and took way too many pictures.
and then we had to sit with this creapy old belgian guy on the train back to Brussels who was CONVINCED that we had "spanish blood in [our] veins"...........riiiiiiiight.
ok folks thats all for now!!
Ciao!

No Compromise
So sorry for neglecting my blog for so long! i've really been busy these past 2 weeks (almost) with work and life and the men's retreat and it all just started piling up and up and up!!! but now i'm back to normal and even my room is getting tidied today! and speaking of today, happy birthday Geraldine and happy birthday Colleen! (see girls i didn't forget...)
i have a book to recommend: its the life story of Keith Green written by his wife Melody, and its called No Compromise. and let me just say this one thing about it: it will really challenge you! it sure challenged me....
which is why i'm cleaning my room today.
why?
well one of the things Melody Green talked about in the book was how Keith was really lacking in self-discipline. one of his friends spoke to him about it and explained how its really a sin. because whatever hinders us from holiness (ie being lazy, watching too much tv, uncleanliness (which is really just laziness), and a whole bunch of other things associated with a lack of self-discipline) is not from God, and whatever is not from God in our life is sin!
And then it hit me. that was what i was like!
I've asked God to help me in this area of my life, and i know He will because He is faithful in everything!
So if any of my readers would like to pray for me that would be GREATLY appreciated.
Love,
Aunty Fifi
P.S. please read the book, it's really worth it!!
